Nfl Playoffs Schedule 2005

Here in June of 2011 as we watch the Vancouver Canucks and Boston Bruins battle for the Stanley Cup we pretty much take the NHL playoffs for granted. But in 2004-05 the preseason, regular season and playoffs were canceled in a labor dispute. What might have been had that not occurred and the question that arises is if no lockout had occurred then what players might now have their name on the Stanley Cup?

The NHL lockout was the first time labor unrest wiped out an entire season of a North American major pro sports league and some felt it the greatest offence ever from a league to fans. The 1994 MLB season might be a greater sin even though baseball played most of the schedule In playing all those games they did for months baseball essentially promised paying fans a World Series yet failed to deliver when the August strike ended the season.

In 2004-05 the NHL provided not one single game nor did they take one cent of fan ticket money under the false promise of a Stanley Cup that was not to be. However, as with baseball a decade earlier, no rings, not one Stanley Cup ring, was awarded in what should have been the NHL’s 88th season.
